Lantern Drift – Privacy Policy
Lantern Drift is a game for kids and families. We wrote this policy in plain language so grown-ups and kids can read it together.
The short version
We do not collect any personal information. We do not collect any data at all. Lantern Drift has no accounts, no sign-in, no chat, no location, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. The game works without an internet connection and does not send anything to us or to anyone else.
What the game saves, and where
To remember your progress, the game saves a few things only on your own device (in the app’s local storage):
- best scores, records and best flights
- fireflies in your jar, lantern skins, trails and charms you have earned
- missions, achievements, the lantern calendar, star shards and festival tokens
- settings such as sound, music, haptics, big text, contrast and reduced motion
- a few once-a-day markers so the free daily extras work (for example, “today’s free shield was used”)
- which Music Box songs you have unlocked and picked, and how far you have flown in total
This information never leaves your device. We cannot see it. It contains no names, no contact details and no identifiers. You can delete it at any time by clearing the app’s data in your device settings or by uninstalling the app. If your device makes its own backups (for example, Android or iCloud device backup), those backups are controlled by you and your device provider, not by us.
Ads and purchases
This version of Lantern Drift has no advertising and no in-app purchases. The optional helpers in the game (a shield, a head start, a daily gift, doubling a run’s fireflies and one “keep going” per run) are free. If we ever add ads or purchases in a future version, we will update this policy first, keep any ads non-personalized and suitable for children, and put real-money items behind a grown-ups-only check.
Sharing
You can make a Daily Sky card or a sky postcard. These pictures are created on your device. They are only shared if you choose to share or save them using your device’s own share or save options. We do not receive them.
Permissions
On Android the game only uses the vibration permission (for optional gentle haptics, which you can turn off in Settings). It does not ask for the internet, location, camera, microphone, contacts or advertising ID.
Children’s privacy
Because we collect no personal information from anyone, we collect no personal information from children. Lantern Drift is designed to follow the Google Play Families Policy and children’s privacy laws such as COPPA (US) and GDPR-K / the UK Age Appropriate Design Code.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will post the new version here with a new effective date before the change applies.
